#BAKE FOR SYRIA
Synopsis
‘In a world where it's often hard to see the wood for the trees, it can be difficult to know which issues and stories to prioritise. The #CookForSyria movement has made it easy for people to get involved and for the public to offer support. It’s an honour to be a part of it.’ - Jamie Oliver
Started by baker Lily Vanilli, #BakeForSyria is the latest iteration of #CookForSyria the supper-club that became a global movement. Following the tradition of the #BakeForSyria project, this cookbook contains delicious recipes for Syrian desserts and sweet treats, passed down through generations. These sit alongside Syrian and Middle Eastern-inspired recipes – accompanied by stunning artwork and design – donated by celebrity chefs and bestselling food writers.

About #BakeForSyria and #CookForSyria
Originally launched as a nation-wide fundraising initiative in November to raise money for UNICEF’s Syria Relief fund, #CookForSyria was the brainchild of Instagram star and Clerkenwell Boy and Serena Guen founder of Suitcase Magazine and Unicef UK’s ambassador for Next Generation London.
#BakeForSyria was started by Lily Vanilli as an offshoot of the award-winning #CookForSyria. The first event took place in the famous Columbia Road London and has since capture the minds of school children, professionals and chefs all over the world. As Syrian and Middle Eastern inspired recipes flooded in, it made sense to share these beyond social media and in the form of a beautiful not for profit recipe book!
All profits from the sale of #CookForSyria the recipe book will be donated to charity - in aid of UNICEF's Children of Syria Appeal (Unicef UK registered charity 10726212 England and Wales and SC043677 Scotland).
