This reads kind of like a fairy story and sort of like a short memoir created by linking a series of sensory snapshots together with the idea of what Smith imagined she saw in the fields at the back of her house when she was growing up. Or maybe she did see it. She is at pains to introduce the book with a blurring of reality that shimmers through the rest of her prose. Interspersed with some of her own photos, this is a thing of beauty and strangeness. Some big ideas and beautiful sentences bundled up in this tiny volume.

A Little book full of a lot of magic... this was absolutely joyful to read, recollecting little bits of everyday magic and wonder growing up. It's filled with dreamy stories and a remembrance of awe felt about our world. It's such a beautiful tiny book!
