I'm a fan of 'Withnail & I' and that's how I came to this book. Sure, it looks behind the making of the film but then it goes so much further. It's a great piece of writing that must have been tough to put into print, from the authors perspective. It is quite personal and open about some deeply difficult times in Grant's life but is cut through with a great sense of humour and a lightness of touch you don't often get with actor's memoirs. Well-written and memorable.
