Reviews: Winter Wild (2)
“Brilliant Book”
(Hardback)
by Jenny Buchanan
I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this book as I had not heard of the author before, but Winter Wild: a feast of dark delights exceeded all expectations. It seriously is one of the most gorgeous food books I have ever seen - the photography throughout (each recipe has its own full page image) is moody and evocative and absolutely stunning, it is also beautifully produced. In short, the book is simply a feast for the eyes. Winter Wild is also so much more than just a cookbook - there are some fantastic savoury and dessert recipes in the book and a good mix of them too, but it also contains so much more: a series of dark tales and a spectacular cocktail chapter called Corpse Revivers with more than 40 cocktail recipes plus tips on how to make them, including the perfect Martini! There is also tips on how to Master the Flames when cooking with fire and there is even instructions on how to build your own earth oven. I am just so in love with this book I am going to buy another - it is the perfect luxe Christmas gift. Take the risk, you will not be disappointed!

What a winter delight! This is a beautiful book to give and receive. Brimming over with the authors passion for food. A celebration of winter food festivals with stunning photographs and warming recipes. Fabulous.
