This is a lovely, hopeful book about the small daily pleasures to be found in urban nature, learning to recognise plants that we’d always thought of as weeds or experiencing the excitement of a bird of prey in the sky over London. The more we learn about the natural world, the more we can appreciate it, and maybe find ways to protect it. I read an advance copy of this book because I know Amanda as a fellow London Wildlife Trust volunteer.
