My four-year-old grandson loved this book. He identified immediately with the milestones passed by the child character, such as outgrowing his shoes and acquiring his first school uniform. He also recognised the kinds of praise offered by the grandparent (and my inability to draw anything well.) The bright, lively illustrations prompted plenty of further discussion and reminiscing. The rhyming text makes ‘Wacko’ a joyful shared read. Highly recommended!
