“History revisited”
(Hardback)
by Jennifer Moville
Set in 1944, London is being targetted by V2 missiles. Dr Rudi Graf dreams of going to the moon. He is attracted to anything and everything about rockets and that's how he got into his work but he is not happy about how his inventions are being used. The powers above him ensure he has no say in these matters. The world is at war and Germany have the idea these missiles will bring London and England to it's knees. The story moves between Germany and Britain and the people whose lives are changed by these rockets. Lots of historical detail has been carefully planned into the pages of this novel and although this type of book is not my usual cup of tea I found myself engrossed withing it's pages.Robert Harris certainly deserves the title of best selling author.
“Historical tour de force ..”

The publication of a new Robert Harris is a big event in my diary. I am ever so grateful that the publisher sent me an early copy to review. This is written in a uniquely Harris style, dealing with the story of the V2 rockets that terrorised London towards the end of the Second World War. Told through different narrators, one from each of the warring sides; Dr Rudi Graf, slowly losing his faith and dignity dealing with the morality of sending rockets to kill civilians; and Kay Caton-Walsh, an officer in the WAAF desperate to find the location of the launch sites. I loved the fantastic historical detail which really gives you a sense of time and place and the way that Harris interweaves the two stories and the destinies of the two main characters. This is a story of Germany’s most desperate and expensive attempt to win the war. He literally opens up a slice of history retelling the lives of “the men of the Vengence Division” and spices it up with wonderfully charged storytelling. There is no option but to buy and read it. You won’t be disappointed.
“Another classic from Mr Harris.”

Robert never disappoints, and I have read them all. V2 is a great read on the cannot-put-down scale. Very descriptive, emotional as an overall observation beautifully constructed. Very much looking forward to hid next book. R.A. P, Devon
“Brilliant.”

A brilliant read from the top. With a nice twist at the end. The signature in the signed edition looks genuine.

Took a while to get a hang of this. Perhaps the style but suddenly had to finish it. Give it a go and you won’t be disappointed
