So I decided I might as well the next installment in the series after not particularly liking the first book Abandon, I hoped that when I read it there would be more depth too the characters, the story would have a better plot and that I would get attached too the characters. Well....we do find out more about John Hayden's past and his family but I still don't love the characters, there isn't any there that I can relate too. There is some new characters that appear in this book which slightly adds too the plot. For some reason I just don't love this series, it isn't the kind of story where I lay awake at night wondering what is going to happen next or where I just can't put the book down. I am sure that a lot of people will love this series but for me it just doesn't have the heart and depth that I generally look for in a book. I will however read the last book in the series.
