Reviews: Unconditional Parenting (1)
“A philosophy of parenting.”
(Paperback)
by Genevieve Morgan
There are many, many books out there telling you how to raise your kids. Having 3 kids far away from family, in desperation I think I've read them all. This one is different. Unconditional Parenting will not provide an ideal diet for pregnant mums, nor will it tell you how frequently to feed your baby. It will certainly not help you train your baby not to need you at night, nor how to pee correctly. There are other books for that. Instead, Unconditional Parenting will help you ascertain these things for yourself. Read it only if you want to raise kids who are fearless enough to know their own mind, who are not cowed by bullies (even if the bully is their teacher), who don't fake their emotions or need to manipulate people, and who expect the best that life has to offer. This is good to read while you're expecting your fist child, and even better when they're a few years old. Mine are hitting their teens now. I think it's time to read it again.
