This is a fabulous account of life as a UK Navy officer on a warship and a German U Boat submarine officer during the World War 2 Arctic convoys where supplies and weaponry were delivered to Russia in support of the Eastern front. What makes it really special is the respect of bravery shown through the diaries kept by two officers from both sides of the War who's task it was to hunt each other in the freezing and treacherous conditions in the Arctic seas. A must read.
