Reviews: True Blue (3)
“True Blue by David Baldacci”
(Paperback)
Truly excellent, David has given us a mystery to get our teeth into with superb hero and heroine.
“A Fantastic Thriller”
(Paperback)
True Blue is a standalone thriller originally published in 2009 by David Baldacci, and it proved to be second to none.
Mace Perry is an ex-cop who is coming to the end of a two-year prison sentence, and she knows that she was set up and wants to prove her innocence. Once she has proven her innocence, she will be able to take up being a cop again. It does not help that her sister is the chief of police in Washington DC, where she used to be a cop.
Mace attends a crime scene with her sister where a lawyer has been killed in her office and talks to the lawyer who discovered her. Little did Mace know that she would end up teaming with lawyer Roy Kingman. The more the pair dig the more questions that arise, and it does not take them long to find that something is wrong with the investigation. With every twist and turn the bad guys always seem to be one step ahead of them. They need to find who they are up against first so that they can successfully solve the case.
A brilliant thriller that keeps the reader hooked.
“True Blue, Not for Me”
(Paperback)
I have read many David Baldacci books and mostly enjoy his plots, characters and way of writing. True Blue I am struggling with as I find the main character, Mace Perry childish and annoying. I am not sure that I will persevere and continue to the end of the book.
