Reviews: Time for Trees (1)
“Time for Trees”
(Hardback)
This is a comprehensive guide to trees available for planting in the UK, both native and ornamental, giving details on their growing requirements, appearance and maintenance implications. Written for landscape architects, horticulturalists and gardeners this is a beautifully presented book that also provides a good reference for any who work in the environmental field, especially those who come across these breeds but are unfamiliar with them (thinking of myself here, native species not a problem but those imports and ornamentals cause me no end of grief when doing habitat surveys). While this is written as a marketing tool as well as a reference guide, this only comes through in the introduction where Barcham's specialist knowledge is used. Overall this is a very useful guide for those who work in the sector and a good reference point for those on the periphery.
