“Tick Tock”
(Hardback)
James Patterson has done it again! I couldn't put it down. Fantastic!
“Bloody brilliant!”
(Paperback)
I seriously couldn't put this book down, it's by far my favourite so far. The story, the characters, the details, it's all amazing.
I've been reading the books in this series back to back, as soon I finish one I immediately start on the next! Love James Patterson, he's just brilliant.
“Pretty good.”
(Paperback)
A quick, fast-paced entertaining read with a few good twists, some nice humour and the usual double/triple bluffs we've come expect from Patterson (and Ledwidge). It doesn't really provoke any profound thoughts or subsequent discussion, it's just a bit of 'fluff' reading and as such it passes the time.
The story centres on a rich man's desire for revenge and utilises crimes from the past and some clever manipulation to attain his goal. This is nicely done. I didn't really care about the characters though, except, perhaps Mary Catherine.
At times the pace seems too quick and often I find that this leads to the story and characters losing depth as they haven't been fully explored. It's almost as if the author just wants to get the book on the shelf without really putting his utmost effort into it. Three and a half stars rather than the full four.
Patterson's 'Women's Murder Club' series is by the far the better group of novels.
