“Enemies to Lovers to Enemies again”
(Paperback)
Holden Knight, a self-made billionaire, driven to succeed by some mysterious reason that drives him. His money, the means to an end for his revenge against the people he holds responsible, but he hadn’t counted on meeting Rowan. Rowan Rothschild, the public face of her family business, and the brains of the outfit behind the scenes, something her useless brother takes credit for. She was ready to make her move and claim her crown, but she hadn’t counted on meeting Holden. Things were about to get hot and steamy in Westmore a town where the men are good old boys and women are meant to look pretty, marry well, and provide children.
The second book in the Tangled Hearts series and Threaded Lies picks up the story from the cliffhanger ending of the first book. Holden Knight and Rowan Rothschild have come full circle, going from lovers to enemies after Rowan believing that he had betrayed her was setting her own plans in motion. Holden equally believing Rowan has betrayed him, has refocused his sights firmly on the revenge that brought him to Westmore. There was no doubting the chemistry between this pair, but they seriously suffered from a lack of communication, and they spend most of this book dancing around one another building the tension between them. Full of angst, mistrust and raw emotion this series is so different from anything I’ve read before from this author but despite the dark undertones this series gives me vibes of one of those eighties soap operas but without the shoulder pads of course, all scheming and familial disfunction complete with the deliciousness of a morally grey billionaire hero who’s out for revenge, toss in the sultry setting of the deep south and I would definitely watch it. If you haven’t read the first book, then put this one down. You really need to read Twisted Knight first to understand what drives Holden and for his back story.
