“Cults Are Out There!”
(Paperback)
by Nicole @WstonesHemel
This is a corker of an adventure that starts before with a prologue of a boy who has predicted a future. On Millenium Eve, a boy will be born who is the only standing between Coren and The People coming to power. Any baby boy born at midnight must be hunted down and destroyed before he comesof age. Adam is 13 and interested in girls , a particular girl, not getting into trouble and fitting in. This adventure is not as fast paced as I would have liked but the idea of a Cult targeting youngsters and making them into weapons is a scary and very real life thing that can happen and I was pleased with the way Hoyle delivered it. It is not a subject touched on except if we talk of war, although many of these religions/ cults talk of peace and harmony the leaders can be dangerous with another agenda. Thirteen does not finish here, at the close of the book Hoyle has named aafew examples of Cults and the massacres that became public knowledge. I think this is a book teens should read as they try to discover who they are and not let anyone else decide for them, as they try to do the right thing and make choices to be better. i would think it an interesting discussion for teen bookclubs or teachers.
“great”
(Paperback)
by suzanne fareham
Thirteen boys born at midnight in London at the stroke of the new millennium. Adam is the thirteenth, the twelve others have been killed by a crazy cult who believe that boys born at this time must die. This is a great book that teens of both sexes will enjoy. A great read with a good pace, I would imagine alex rider fan's enjoying this.
“Action packed and original”
(Paperback)
by Gem R
An action-packed and exciting novel that ramps up the tension with each chapter. Adam is a great character - despite being thrust into an incredibly dangerous and strange scenario, he was brave and determined to protect those around him and to survive. Coron was a fantastic villain; it was scary believable as there really are people that are that warped and believe in their delusions. It was impressive for a début novel, the only thing that let it down ever so slightly was that the end sequence was a bit too short - it felt like it had been built up so much that it could've used a bit of extra time. But overall I was very impressed and I'd definitely read more by this author

I love the cover and page edges of this book, it makes it really stand out and look exciting! Thankfully the story inside is just as exciting as the cover suggests . It's so action packed it reads like a movie. Perfect for any reluctant teen readers, they will be hooked from the first page.
