I’ve been fortunate enough to work with John on his podcast for the past six years. He is a singularly hilarious and reflective talent. Thirst is a channeling of everything he is so good at, delivered in a way truly unique to him. Thirst is deeply personal and he is so perceptive on an issue you sadly may have needed to have lived through and come out the other side to properly articulate. I’m sure it’ll be incredibly helpful for so many people, but, just as significantly, provide compassion and understanding for those around us who may be living with alcoholism. It’s also, of course, roaringly and bleakly funny in a way John is such a master of. This work will have meant so much to him, and for that he should be extremely proud.

If you already know John and his nature - you'll love it. If you don't know him yet, then you need to, and what better intro than this book.

Having been a long time listener and fan of John Robins, it was inevitable that i would purchase his book. It made me both laugh out loud, and cry in equal measures. He's a very funny guy, sharp witted and i just love his humour. I also love how articulate he is, his degree of openess to how much he's willing to share with his audience, and share he did. A couple of times i actually found myself saying " oh john" out loud and feeling a mixture of shock,surprise and sadness. This book has really opened my eyes in a way i didn't imagine, anticipate or maybe expect? I have no personal experience with any family or friends who have an addiction, and this book is certainly not a self help book for other alcholics. It is however, an insight to one mans experience with alcohol and i feel privileged to have read it.

An incredible book to read. Somehow he writes a highly emotional and brutally honest book which is weaved with humour through out it.

I loved this book. It was hard to read in places as many elements resonated with my own experiences but it ultimately is a hopeful, positive and transformative story.
