Reviews: Things We Left Behind (2)
“Heartfelt, funny and surprisingly sexy”
(Paperback)
READ THIS SERIES!
This is the third book in the Knockemout series. , finally we get to know the story behind the awesome librarian Sloane & the ‘suit daddy’ Lucian , oh how I wish there was more books in this series!
I’ve absolutely loved this series & again this final one didn’t disappoint. Another fantastic book, a real page turner. Honestly I couldn’t put it down or when I did I was picking it up again 5 mins later.
It’s laugh out loud funny, tearful in parts and very steamy in others. A real enemies to lovers but were they really enemies or just stupid for hiding all those feelings for decades. I like the other storyline running throughout the series finally all comes together and justice is served.
I love how Lucy Score writes from the two main characters points of view, it’s exciting, it’s romantic, it’s devilishly spicy but also it’s super funny. It really pulls you in to all the characters that you’ve grown to love throughout the other books, again there are all featured in this perfectly imperfect nosy fall town of Knockemout.
Lucy Score has definitely become a favourite author of mine!
“Opposites attract in this kooky small town”
(Paperback)
Sloane Walton is Knockemout's librarian. As a teenager she was close with their next door neighbour Lucian Rollins. Whilst Sloane's family was kind, loving, and generous, Lucian's father was a drunk and abusive. 'Something' happened when they were teens and since then they have been sworn enemies. However, when Sloane's father dies, Lucian is thrust back into her life (even more than he is normally because they have mutual friends in KNox and Nash and their significant others) and these enemies decide they have to at least pretend to play nice in the lead up to their friends' wedding.
Sloan is small-town, she wants a husband, a family, a dog, the white picket fence. Lucian is big city, a wheeler dealer with the power to make or break politicians, and enough money to make things happen, after his upbringing he doesn't want a family, afraid he could be just like his father.
They might loathe each other but these opposites can't deny the sparks that fly between them - is the best way to get over it to have a one-night stand?
Sexy, funny, cute. Loved it.
