This was my first Kandi Steiner book that I’ve read and I’m so annoyed at myself for not getting into her books sooner! The Wrong Game was angsty, sexy and hilarious at times. I was feeling so many different emotions from the very beginning right to the end. I was immediately drawn to Zach’s character due to how perceptive and persistent he was upon meeting Gemma. Their romantic connection wasn’t instant but you could still sense there was chemistry there, they had the best banter. Gemma is a widow trying to overcome the loss of her husband and his unfaithfulness which she never disclosed she knew about before his death. She feels this need to regain a sense of control and not get her heart broken again but Zach might be just the guy to put it back together again. Spoiler alert he did! One of the things I enjoyed about this book was that although it’s a sports romance, the main characters in this aren’t athletes. It was nice to see an FMC freely enjoy a sport without being questioned about it just because of their gender. I loved the scenes when Gemma would be at the matches and cheer along with people in the section she was sat in. Belle who is Gemma’s bestie was a fun side character and I cannot wait to read her book which is called The Right Player
