‘The Wolf Pit’ is not a romance, so don’t go into this book expecting that. It is, though, a thoughtful autobiographical story about family dynamics, the impact of mental illness on loved ones, and how the wild, rural setting of Yorkshire, and the industrial changes happening at the time affected those living in the area. Non-fiction books are very hit or miss for me, but this one is pretty solid, if a bit slow at times.
