Much has been written in the past about the life of Sir Stanley Matthews, arguably the greatest footballer ever.Here in Hanley, the town of his birth, he is regarded in such high esteem , that I suspect this warts and all biography may prove difficult reading for some people, revealing him to be not quite as squeaky clean as thought previously. Having said that, it is an excellent read, worthy of a place on every football fan's bookshelf.
