Good first book you are never quite sure who did what. Well worth reading looking forward to the next book

This book was a pretty great read. I was invested in every part of the story, from DI Bob Sparkes catching the child-napper, to Kate Waters writing her interview. I especially wanted to know exactly what happened to little Bella. I'd definitely recommend this books to lovers of thrillers and to anyone who enjoyed After the Crash or similar. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I read the entire thing in just three days. A really engaging thriller

I couldn't put this down. Anyone who enjoyed the twists of 'Girl On The Train' and 'Disclaimer' will love this. The characters are well formed and brilliantly written, I really enjoyed the little mentions of the main detective's enduring wife! This has all the ingredients for a great thriller – unreliable narrators, dark secrets, intriguing twists – you get hooked right from the start, a great read.

I can guarantee ever reader that once you open this book you will not be able to close it. Jean Taylor had a loving husband or a heartless killer? she's know, wouldn't she? Jean's husband has been accused of taking a little girl. Kate a reporter wants the story, but she doesn't really want to know about Jean does she? Kate wants to know the truth about Jean's husband Glen. The Widow, The Reporter, The Detective and The Mother of the missing child each have their own chapters. The story is a dark tale of a terrible crime, a stifling marriage, and the lies spouses tell not just to each other, but to themselves. All though Fiona has been a reporter it doesn't mean that it is any easier to write to novel. A writer has to have a good story line, making readers glued to every page, with characters that readers want to not only just like, but think that they possible just might know that character. This is exactly the fabulous energy that Fiona Barton gives in The Widow from start to finish. Fiona Barton is writing her second book and I can't wait, I am sure buying it.

If you are hooked on the "Gone Girl" and " The Girl On The Train" genre, then you will absolutely love this book. It is sinister, gripping, dark and utterly unputdownable. It is the story of a dilemma , what the character "widow" goes through and whether her beloved husband was an innocent or a monster. I enjoyed reading this book immensely and I'm sure you will too.
