Reviews: The Weekend Gardener (2)
“Great and inspiring guide”
(Hardback)
by Charlee G Verified Purchase
Bought on recommendation and after seeing a garden Henry has designed. Have more dipped in than read cover to cover so far; a useful, inspiring, well laid out and easy to refer to and access guide including practical advice and clear step by step photos and instructions for a range of projects. Great guide to help me plan my garden and projects. Recommended.
“Practical Garden Guide Rooted in Reality”
(Hardback)
by Sally, Richmond
This is most definitely a garden guide for those of us with busy lives and no staff (isn't that everyone?). It is above all very practical with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions for a host of garden projects from paths to pergolas and bulbs to trees. It is very heavy on hard landscaping but if you need to build a wall or lay a path you need look no further. Henry Agg doesn't assume a huge amount of existing knowledge in his readers so it is a really perfect book for beginners and would make a wonderful present for someone facing the challenge of their first garden. That said the later chapters provide useful seasonal guides to what to do to keep on top of the garden once you have completed the set-up. As Henry says planning (realistic planning) is the key and his book will really help you to do that.
