A novel that really draws you in from the start. Reunion of work colleagues from years ago, which one of them holds a secret that could ruin Dominic's life? You really do not want to go a dinner party like this one, where peoples secrets are bought to the fore either by fair means or foul.

Mark Edwards doesn't ever write a bad book and I thoroughly enjoyed this novel about uncovering secrets from the past. Told from Will's perspective, he is employed by Professor Sebastien to create a dating website back in the nineties along with Sophie, Theo, Georgia, Rohan and Lily. They all have their parts to play, writing code, content, marketing etc and prove to be a dynamic team. Unfortunately the project is cut short and the website scrapped without warning and the group disband. Fast forward twenty odd years later and a dinner is arranged by Theo and Georgia who are now a married couple, to celebrate the life of the Professor and the summer spent in his manor house where the website was created. Will is nervous, he hasn't seen Sophie, his crush, since then and knows he hasn't fared as well as the others but is keen to catch up. The dinner isn't all it seems as someone knows a secret from back then and they are prepared to kill to get it. Great pace, character description, loved the energy and the relationships between the group. Thoroughly enjoyed and sure it will be enough hit for Mark!

Mark Edwards is the gift that keeps on giving. I thought that his last book was his best, but with this latest read his gone up another level yet again. His ability to make you totally invested in both the good and the not so good characters is second to none,you find yourself liking not only the good ones but rather taking to the baddies as well. I enjoyed the dual timelines, taking us back to 1999 and to the present day and the twists along the way. This has it all mystery,intrigue tragedy, and buried secrets galore with an ending that surprised me not once but twice. It is an excellent psychological thriller that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It's been a while since I've read a book by Mark, but I have to say, I loved this. Six friends reunite for a dinner party to celebrate the life of Sebastian, their professor back in 1999. What starts as a lovely catch-up soon turns into something more sinister. A deadly game, where one of them has a secret. Who knows something from 1999? Are they going to reveal it before someone gets killed? A brilliant twisty, fast-paced thriller that alternates between past and present. I loved how each character revealed their secret thinking it would save them, very clever. I was definitely invested in this and the twist at the end! Addictive.

The pace is fast, there were plenty of twists, in fact, it has everything you want and need to hold your interest. This is a fantastic read.
