Reviews: The Wasp Trap (92)
“A Stunning Read and Left Me in Awe!”
(Paperback)
by Steven at Bluewater
A absolute rollercoaster of a thriller, which moves at such a pace and with so many ups and downs, I was permanently on the edge of my seat and loving every twist and mind blowing sting that left me speechless! OMG! The Wasp Trap is a character driven masterclass in suspense and intrigue with plotting that is out of this world and takes the familiar format of a reunion of old friends with the traditional secrets and resulting murder and catapults it into a whole new dimension of crime writing. Featuring break neck action, gripping mysteries and knife edge drama with the added bonus of a touch of The Traitors thrown in to push a already sensational storyline to bold new heights. The dinner party was meant to be a reunion of old friends who worked together years ago on a new dating app that would have made them all rich, but when the project collapsed and the group went there separate ways they took there secrets and sins with them. Now they are back together and someone in the house wants there secrets and will go to any lengths to acquire one in particular. The table is set, the players seated, its time to vote who is lying and find the truth no matter the consequences! The Wasp Trap is one of those rare reads which left me in awe and desperate to tell everyone I know about it. This psychological drama explores many themes with the resulting twists pushing the drama into unexpected and supremely addictive new directions, whilst the added elements of a psychopath test mixed with winning qualities of TV show, The Traitors is a work of pure genius and captures the readers imagination like never before. The Wasp Trap pushes the boundaries of most crime thrillers and with its mix of action, horror and extremely clever whodunnits I was left loving every page and with a constant buzzing that lasted long after the book was finished. Exceptional and creates a new level of brilliance for other thrillers to aim for!

This is the first time I have come across author Mark Edward’s. I was a little apprehensive with a new author but I was not disappointed. Every page there was something to consider in trying to work out the next step. But marks writing is astounding and provides the thill of the chase, the easy read and total surprise. Agatha Christie would be happy. Can’t wait to read other books by Mark Edward’s now.

“Gripping, tense, and relentlessly paced”
(Hardback)
by Leeanne Lewis
The Wasp Trap by Mark Edwards is a true Mark Edwards-style thriller—gripping, tense, and relentlessly paced. From the first chapter, it keeps you on the edge of your seat, masterfully layering suspense and psychological intrigue. I devoured it in a day just to reach the explosive finale. The plot is taut and cleverly constructed, with just enough twists to keep you guessing without feeling overdone. Edwards' signature ability to blur the line between paranoia and reality is on full display, pulling you into the protagonist’s unraveling world. The characters are sharply drawn, especially the lead, whose internal struggle adds a compelling layer to the unraveling mystery. While a few turns might echo familiar beats, they’re handled with enough finesse to feel fresh. With a great plot and a satisfying final act, The Wasp Trap proves once again why Mark Edwards is a master of the genre. It’s a compulsive, chilling read that sticks with you long after you’ve turned the last page.
