If you enjoyed Rayners previous novel One Moment One Morning, then you are sure to loved this one, If you haven't then you will still enjoy it. We return to the same group of characters (and more) from the previous novel; don't panic if you haven't read the first book as this one can be read as a stand alone title. Their lives have moved on from where we left them and they've all gotten a little older and wiser. The core topic of the book is pregnancy. After a health scare, Lou comes to realise that time is running out for her to become a mother. The only problem is, her partner doesn't feel the same way. At the same time, miles away in Yorkshire, Cath and her husband RIch are desperate to have a child. But Cath is infertile so their options are limited. However, there could be a way these two women can help each other. This enjoyable read is fantastically researched and full to the brim with information and I found myself really investing in the characters. I shared their anxious waits for that positive result, and wanted to comfort them in their times of need. What made it even sweeter was the ending; Right up to those last few pages, Rayner continues to surprise the reader. I can't wait to see what she produces next.

This book takes you through the journey of the two main charectors through the process of IVF. It shares the reactions of friends and family to their decision and hits home the sadness of wanting somehing that much that you will go to great lengths to be a parent. It is a rollercoaster of emotions and if you already have the gift of children will make you appreiciate them even more. It shows that no one is in a place to judge anothers decison if you have never had to make that decision yourself. The charectors are funny, sad, critical and human and shows there is no such thing as a typical family. A great read that will make you happy and sad at different times and you really care about what happens to all concerned.

I read One Moment, One Morning a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it, so when I saw this had just come out by the same author I couldn't wait to get stuck in. Some follow-ups are disappointing, but although this novel revisits some familiar characters from One Moment, One Morning, it's a complete standalone story, and a very compelling one at that. The Two Week Wait follows the journey of two women each desperate to have a child of their own: there's Cath in Leeds, happily married and in her forties, but infertile, and Lou down in Brighton, who has discovered having a baby may be more important to her than a relationship. I knew from One Moment, One Morning that Sarah Rayner excels at dealing with such personal matters with compassion and understanding, but what I loved about this novel was it's well researched too, so I found it not just highly emotive but also educational.Through characters such as Lou's mother and Cath's sister in law, Sarah Rayner tackles the scepticism and criticism that are far from being uncommon where fertility treatments are concerned. If you've read One Moment, One Morning, this novel will feel like meeting old friends. But regardless, you're in for a treat.

This book simply put is beautiful. I received a copy from Waterstones to review and I just couldn't put it down. The emotions are well written, you can positively feel and connect with the characters while reading. I love it. The characters experience ups and downs just like ordinary people, so bits of this book had me in tears and bits made me smile widely from ear to ear. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys feeling real emotions when they read. truthfully, this book was amazing, and I plan to read more by Sarah Raynor. There is one thing I didn't like, it feels like it's present tense in some bits past tense in others. Might have just been me, but it didn't put me off reading it and it shouldn't put anyone else off. It's a fantastic book, and it feels real. like it's happening before your very eyes. Read It

Heartbreaking and life changing – that’s how I would describe Two Week Wait. A topic that isn’t normally written about in fiction and not one I would normally put my self through having done it. However it will touch all your hearts. Lou and Cath are two women who for different reasons decide to have a baby. Cath needs eggs and Lou has them so they egg share. What happens along the way will have you gripped from the first moment. You’ll cry, laugh and get angry with them before finally finding closure with them. The characters seem real and if you have been through IVF you will either associate more with Lou or Cath. I truly hope that Sarah Rayner writes a third book about the characters. I’m definitely off to purchase One Moment One Morning now.
