Netgalley Review The writing was thought provoking, emotional and heartwarming. It had everything that you could want from a cosy fantasy. Spread throughout the book were different points of view and quotes from well known books which gave an extra dimension to the story. The chapters were fairly long, which meant that you got a good chunk of the story before moving on. At the end of the story was an Epilogue which I enjoyed. There was a good flow between the chapters. It was made interesting when we suddenly went to another characters' point of view and a book quote. I loved this technique and thought that it added a nice extra layer to the story. There was a good pace to the book. Whilst nothing felt rushed, we moved through the story well, learning things about the main character and watching her navigate through this tough time in her life. The characters were excellent. They all brought something to the story and gave you something to think about. Each secondary character embodied something that the main character had to work on in her own life. It was very cleverly done. I loved the main character. She really brought the emotion to the story and it was so interesting to see how she saw things. Lastly the settings. I loved the village setting. There were some lovely descriptions that oozed cosy. I would love to go there! Overall a heartwarming, emotional read that gave you plenty to think about. I recommend.

Learning to trust yourselfThis was a delightful introduction to August Bloom's writing and I loved every page. Lampton feels like your quintessential small town with a nice dash of magical creatures. Lamplight books is *the* perfect bookshop and you're guaranteed to find the perfect read for you, plus the vibes were immaculate.I really enjoyed that there wasn't a romance subplot to this story and that instead we had a really strong focus on friendship and self-discovery. We even get a cute animal side kick (although he does cause some drama!). Max's grief feels so real and raw, it was quite healing to read how angry she got at the world (so often books just focus on the sadness of grief, not the rage!).Overall a really lovely read that is perfect to pick up on a quiet weekend, served with a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit. Bookstores are magical places. The Tiny Magic Bookshop is more than magical it's healing in a way. Max's mother died when hit by a car. She leaves Max the bookstore with a final clause in her will. Live there at least a year before deciding to sell it or not. Max had always felt like she was a failure. She just wasn't enough. That she was a disappointment. The bookstore's magic is there for her necessary healing and others. This book is one I will always recommend for anyone but especially for people who think they are never enough. Wish I could give it more than five stars.
