Reviews: The Third Man (5)
“Superb”
(Hardback)
Peter Mandelson's 'The Third Man' has to be one of the greatest book I have ever read and I formally challenge any politician worth their salt to write anything even half as good!! He makes Labour make sense and explains why in his opinion they lasted so long, and couldn't cut the mustard on the third term in office and the reason why we are now subjected to the Tories, thank god for Mandelson because if it was not for him 'Being Peter' this country would not stand a chance. I remain steadfast behind my review, in that, There will never be a greater book more enthralling than this one on politics in general until such time as Mandelson himself writes it Its a Masterpiece.
“Absolutley incredible”
(Hardback)
Peter Mandelson has really out done himself this time, this book has to be the most fundamentally gripping account of events on New Labour over the last 13 years, accompanied with a large dose of 'Being Peter' there is no book that will beat it or be half as good until Mandelson Himself writes the sequel, and when that time comes I will be first in line. An absolute masterpiece. Mandelson you are wonderful
“A fascinating read”
(Hardback)
This book is interesting because of it's third party view of the Blair/Brown relationship, and the creation of New Labour. The early parting of the ways once Blair becomes labour leader, and the increasingly difficult relationship comes through, as well as Browns awkwardness in presenting himself as a 21st century leader.
Once started this book is difficult to put down.
“Untrustworthy politics makes for good reading...”
(Paperback)
A slimy, egostistical, self-congratulating and power-hungry politician... makes for a great read! If you follow politics it's a few pounds well spent although Mandelson will have you believe that 12 years of Labour government was all his idea!
“Rubbish”
(Paperback)
To the auidence who desire to read this book,
When seeing this book and reading the reviews, I thought it would give me a new idea of labour or some sort of dignified relevence to the party. However I was highly dissapionted, all Peter Mandelson writes about is how he governed Britain, degrading Gordon Brown further, talks about Tony Blair and his relationship toward him, and how the conservative party is so great. It is clear that Peter is a perpetual moaner.
If I knew that this book had anything illuminating, I would not buy this.
