Reviews: The Tempest (1)
“I can never get enough Shakespeare!”
(Paperback)
by Taran Baker at Milton Keynes Mid Place
It taken me a while to read this cover to cover, but now I have I think I will enjoy watching the play even more. It is one of the shortest of Shakespeare's plays and therefore an easy one to just pick up and read in an afternoon, so I think everyone should give it ago. The story of Prospero and his daughter Miranda is one filled with tragedy, comedy, romance and magic and is one of my favourite of the playwrights later works. In terms of the publisher; I will always buy the Arden Editions of Shakespeare's works, as I find that the quality of the introductions, footnotes and appendices is outstanding throughout his repertoire, whether you are studying them in a formal environment or just for pleasure. It was these editions that got me through school and university, and are well worth every penny.
