Reviews: The Switch (47)
“Wonderfully Charming”
(Paperback)
by Caitlin Connelly
Being my first book since having a break from reading, this was a great place to start. Brilliant, funny and charming. If you’re looking for a simple uplifting read that meets a number difficult themes then this is the one for you.
“So Sweet!”
(Paperback)
by Eden at Martlesham
Where do I even begin?! I did not expect to love this book as much as I did! I’m a big fan of multiple POV’s but you do run the risk of having a character nobody enjoys reading - I was worried that the older character in this would be boring to me but that wasn’t the case at all! Although I enjoyed Leena’s chapters considerably more, Eileen’s were also a joy to read. Every character had so much personality and the relationships between them all were so genuine. I haven’t read until the early hours of the morning for a while but I got through a big chunk of it without even realising until it was 2 AM. The Switch is definitely a book I’ll be re-reading at some point and I think I might have to pick up O’Leary’s other books!
“A glorious read with wonderful characters, can’t recommend enough”
(Hardback)
by Morag Drummond
Oh my goodness, this is the most wonderful book. I am so delighted to have been able to read this early. Beth O Leary writes beautifully, her characters are real and lovable. The two Eileens in this book are both brilliant women and the other women around them are fabulous as well. It’s so appropriate that I read most of this on International Women’s Day, it really is a hurrah to sisterhood, literally. This is an unputdownable book. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with everything about it. I wouldn’t have thought Ms O Leary could write another book as good as The Flatshare but she has. This is an author to watch all right, she writes the best characters ever.
“A genuis storyline”
(Paperback)
by Louise
Another amazing book by O'Leary! I was thrilled to get my hands on this book. Following her other fantastic read Flatshare, I had high hopes for this one and i'm glad I did, it was fantastic! It really brings you in to the two completely different lives, with all the charismatic and witty characters with it, making you feel as though you are in their two different worlds, right at the centre. A lot of twists in the book that will keep you on your toes but an overall great storyline and a fantatic, easy read!
“Completely Joyful”
