Having not read any of Michael Robotham’s novels before, I wasn’t sure what to expect – but I absilutely LOVED The Secrets She Keeps! What a rollercoaster of a read with The characters are fantastic; I loved both Meghan and Agatha in their own ways, and felt real empathy for some of the characters despite them doing things I may not agree with – it’s a testament to Michael Robotham’s writing that he can make characters do strange things we may not understand, but we can see perhaps why they might be driven to do what they do. The novel addresses that feeling of wanting something that someone else has, and how it begins to take over everything. The story slowly reveals more and more to the reader and, without giving too much away, I think that the writing is excellent, the plot is well crafted and there are some brilliant developments which kept me completely hooked. There didn’t feel like there was a need for any huge twists in the plot; the story was brilliant and absorbing enough without needing the ‘shock tactics’ at the end of the novel. The Secrets She Keeps really grabs you by the throat and keeps you captive in Meghan and Agatha’s world until you can bear to stop reading – and for me it was a case of reading it in two (very long) sittings, which would have been one sitting if it weren’t for work getting in the way! Agatha know's everything about Meghan and her family she knows where they live and where they work she even knows the layout of there family home, when Meghan comes into the store with her children and starts talking to Agatha they soon start talking about the new babys that are both due around the same time, and after what seems to be a chance meeting at Meghan's pregnant yoga class they soon become friends, Meghan likes Agatha because shes down to earth and not like her other friends and Agatha likes Meghan because she has the life that Agatha wants! But then a baby goes missing and a hunt is on to find the missing baby and the person who took him! from the moment i started reading this book i loved it i couldn't stop reading because i had to find out what happened next, the plot of the story is very real with believable characters what i loved about this story is that it kept you on edge until the very last word on the page as the story was getting close the end the police and the worried mother was still hunting the person who took the baby AND THEN BANG!!! it took another turn and lots of twists this is an amazing book they you will not put down its a book that you will tell all your friends about and will want to read again!! thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for my copy
