It's good stuff

I read a small sample of the beginning of this book courtesy of NetGalley. An intriguing taster of the first two chapters of this book by Bob Mortimer. There was enough to grab my interest and encourage me to want to read more as it is difficult to review a book on the premise of the first few pages (hence only 4 stars) but there is promise. Written in a style that is very Bob Mortimer, random but funny with some off-the-wall imagination

When Gary’s really-quite-tedious not-quite-friend is murdered, the legal assistant is unwittingly drawn into a mystery, when he’d really much rather have a bath. Brimming with delusional crushes, chatty squirrels, and corn-shaped dongles, this absolutely comedy gem is sure to put a big old grin on your face.

Thoroughly enjoyed this quirky novel. The characters are likeable and the plot is different. A great first novel. Look forward to the next.
