I loved this book from the very start! What a journey the Salt Path is. Such a brilliant read, at times I couldn’t believe it was a true story. I felt like I was on the walk with them both. From sadness of why they started the walk to an inspirational ending. Must read! Easy and enjoyable.

As a general rule, I don’t read books twice. There are just too many I’ve yet to pick up. However, this book is the exception. The perfect companion during isolation, it transported me from the confines of home to the freedom of the coastal path, with many thought provoking snippets along the way. A beautiful book that made me feel both gratitude and hope.

Being a walker myself I found the story enthralling. The determination of Raynor and Moth to complete the 650 miles in such torturous condition was to be admired. I look forward to reading the sequel The Wild Silence

This is now one of my favourite books. Having walked many miles on coastal paths, this brilliantly written account of their journey has reinvigorated my love for the 'salt path'. Ray also shines a light on our attitudes towards the homeless and the need for a bit more compassion and understanding.

I was gripped from the first paragraph and felt very emotionally attached to the main characters. Shocking, hilarious and uplifting turns of events that are described so well you feel you have walked all the way with them. One of my top five lockdown reads.
