3.75 - 4 Very easy & pleasant to read. It was very clear from the beginning that Oliver was suuuper into Priscilla and kept on wanting to meet and hang out and I don’t know how if it was made that way for the reader to notice or if Priscilla was just really *that* oblivious to Oliver’s attempts and so in her head about the whole fake dating situation? I guess this is one of those moments where dual pov would have been great. The fake relationship itself was fun to read and I actually would have loved for them to go on a couple more (fake) dates, just the two of them so they have something to tell to their respective best friends. Two things stood out to me in a really positive way. One was the way Priscilla handled Malcolm and his business & private inquiries, which she rightfully clocked as unprofessional in every way possible and therefore stopped all communication with him. I do think there was room to further resolve the actual reason why she was fired from her event planning job, though. The other thing was the fight between Priscilla and Oliver, which was your typical cue to lead the way for a third act breakup, and I have to admit, while reading this scene, I was already mentally preparing for the breakup, which ended up not happening! Instead, Priscilla and Oliver talked it out and moved on with their relationship. I love when adults do adult things!! I will also say, as cringe as this whole flashmob idea in the beginning was to me, reading how it turned out in the end, it sounded like a well executed proposal. There’s a level of predictability, which I also noticed in Donna’s previous novel, Hate Mail, but it didn’t impact my enjoyment whatsoever. If you want a quick, fun read, I would recommend both The Proposal Project as well as Donna’s previous release, Hate Mail. (This book also deserves some mental plus points for mentioning/referencing the 90s movie "Babe" (the one about the little pig)) Thank you One More Chapter/HarperCollins for providing this book for review via NetGalley.
