I first read this book when I was 12 at school, and maybe you did too and you're idly searching those books the teachers made you read that you rushed through so you could have more time with your friends or collecting pokemon cards (just me?) or maybe you've never read this book before, either way you can't go wrong with this book. Even though it was written in 1967 and the socs and greasers have passed from memory every generation has it's own gangs and cliques this book is about rivalries between the chavs and the goths as much as it is anything, I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't love this book

i brought it after watching the movie and i wish the movie had scenes that were in the book bc they were so good!

this book is easily the most beautiful piece of literature i have ever read. it is relatable in many ways to many teenagers; finding yourself in a world you believe you don’t belong in. it is a wonderful, heart-wrenching story about true friendship, and i recommend this book to everyone i meet. it has truly changed my outlook of the world and i think about the story everyday. S.E Hinton is a book writing genius, and i thank her everyday for creating such a beautiful story.
