Reviews: The Outsider (1)
“A Brilliant Read”
(Paperback)
What can I say?
Very short read, obviously, and brilliant, too.
At first, I was waiting to feel something with the book - what exactly, I don't know. But I was waiting to feel something. Then, it happened. I began to understand Meursault. He was a simple man. Simple man.
We all tend to say we are simple, but I don't think we understand what we mean by 'simple' when we say it.
Meursault personifies simple. If you want to know what I mean, read the book.
What I've taken away from this, though, the ultimate thing, is that society fears simple, even though society claims that it wants simple.
Amazed. A brilliant read.
(Very hard book to rate.)
