I loved this book, once i started reading it i didn't want to put it down! A gripping thriller set in and around stockholm following Joona and Saga as the desperately try to solve the crimes and stop more murders being commited. Lots of suspense and brilliant twists and turns. I have not read The Hypnotist, but i will certainly be getting it now, a well deserved 5 stars.

Intelligently written, The Nightmare keeps you gripped all the way through with an excellent plot and believable, well defined characters. Couldn't put it down. Waiting for the next one!

I have been waiting for this book for so long! I am a huge fan of The Hypnotist, and have been so excited to read The Nightmare, the second book featuring detective Joona Linna. I thought nothing could top The Hypnotist, but I was so wrong. The Nightmare is a highly intelligent thriller, full of twists and turns that keep you gripped until the very end of the book. Just when you think you’ve finally grasped how things are going to end, you get hit with another twist that makes you question everything you’ve read so far. I was torn between reading as fast as I could because I was so gripped, and wanting to read slowly to make it last longer! Although there are plenty of gory bits, the book doesn’t rely on guts and gore and gruesome, but still manages to be genuinely scary. While some crime books feature far-fetched situations, Lars Kepler incorporate events which are highly believable, adding to the fear factor. You'll definitely be thinking about this book for days after you put it down. Lars Kepler are an incredible pair of writers, and I can’t wait to read the next book featuring Detective Joona Linna.

I was delighted when this book came out as The Hypnotist was amazing, this was another page turner staring Joona Linna. I will definitely be reading this again!
