I finally got round to reading this gem of a book having bought it a couple of years. Whilst the reader could be confused that that they’re reading a ‘boy’s own hero’ tale, it tells a true but scarcely believable story of one man’s attempt to scale Everest. Completely unaware of this story, I was gripped from start to finish, a combination of awe and disbelief. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who loves adventures and the human stories behind those who attempt them.
