Reviews: The Mortons (4)
“A Thrilling and superbly crafted novel.”
(Hardback)
If you love great characters, a very intriguing plot, and lots of witty smart banter then this book is for you. Easily one of the best books I’ve read this year and is in my top ten of all time. This book is a must read.
“Is this the start of a series?”
(Hardback)
Thank you to the publishers for this early review copy.
My first question - is this the start of a new series?
Good intriguing plot, loved the characters, never quite knowing who I could honestly trust?
What behaviours!
Excellent ending - but is it really the end of the start of something more?
I need to talk to others who have read this...
Happy to recommend.
“Murder, family feuds and power dynamics”
(Hardback)
The write up about this book grabbed my attention straight away with me being partial to the weird and wonderful, family feuds, money and power dynamics, but I admit I was confused throughout the whole story . This may of been a me problem , I thought it would get better further along but it didn’t unfortunately. The story is an interesting concept but it didn’t work for me sadly. I definitely would recommend this book however to others as everyone has their own reading tastes. I do like to be honest in reviews but don’t let my review put you off give this book a go it could be such a good story for you. Many thanks to #Netgalley #TheMortons for this e-copy.

“Deliciously gothic”
(Hardback)
The concept is super interesting because of how real it seems, a family spanning generations, hiding in the shadows, quietly manipulating the political landscape and placing people in positions of power in order to control the world. That feels pretty real.
I loved Jessica. Her desire to be perfect, exactly what her family wanted in all aspect. The evolution of her character throughout this book was so interesting. How far will you bend for your family? Are your emotions and thoughts even your own?
The way this ended was absolutely biting, I adored it.
