4.25/5 stars A happy find for a shorter series (4 books in all apparently). I had read a previous book from Morrison that I enjoyed and found these in her backlist. I loved the characters here. Grace with her "yearning for adventure and independence" nature and loyalty to a sweet friendship and Percy with his gentlemanly honor and just a touch of vulnerability in his return to the ton. Such wonderful mains to root for, wonderfully drawn and begging to be followed through their adventures. How great are these two separately much less as a couple? And while we are not seeing them as a romantic couple here, it is refreshing to watch as a lovely friendship and respect begins to take hold. The banter is great; the supporting cast is great (those "Sprouts" and the queen!), and the plot was interesting enough to keep me engaged. All of the above was enough to lead me on to the next in series, "The Ruby Dagger"... more on that soon.
