I sat down to read Grumpy Fairies with my two and a half year old George who is currently deep into 'terrible two's' territory. Immediately we knew this was a new favourite. The art is reminiscent of classic fairy tale books with beautiful muted oranges and yellows, but the magic is in the story which is hilarious with a good moral at the end. On one of the pages you can see a grumpy little fairy declare "Why can't the grown-ups do it?" and I feel like I'm asking the same question even now, as a grown-up myself. A really cheeky fun book that is an absolute must for all of us with adorable little grumpy ones.

A sweet picture book that will resonate with parents everywhere! This story is lots of fun. Everyone thinks fairies are sweet and helpful, but there are lots of fairies - usually the youngest ones - who are a "foot-stompy, frowny, bottom-lip-sticky-outy kind of grumpy" instead. The grumpy fairies don't want to walk snails or water wildflowers. They're too busy stomping off through the forest to help the woodland animals they come across, or to notice the goblin who's been creeping up behind them... Grumpy fairies are a goblin's favourite things to eat. Can these five fairies change their attitudes before it's too late? Grumpy Fairies is full of adorable illustrations and funny words. I laughed all the way through this as it is so accurate it is unreal. The fairies are perfect examples of toddlers everywhere that don't want to do as they're told until they believe that it is their own idea. A great story perfect for all families.

Everyone knows that Fairies are happy, sweet and helpful. But the youngest fairies are anything but, he youngest fairies are grumpy. I mean proper grumpy. I mean foot-stompy, frowny, bottom-lip-sticking-outy kind of grumpy. I mean 'it's just one of those days' grumpy. A Wonderfully illustrated book that will both delight young children and resonate with parents.

Not all fairies are the charming, cheerful characters we expect them to be. Some fairies, especially the young ones, can be GRUMPY. Being grumpy can be a full-time job, so these grumpy fairies don't have time to help their fellow forest inhabitants and even have trouble hearing the warnings that a goblin is creeping around the forest looking for lunch.
