Ruth Galloway, Forensic Archaeologist returns for another stonking mystery. This time the setting is amongst the abandoned airfields of Norfolk, the titular Ghost Fields. I have to confess that I am, I think, a little in love with Ruth Galloway. So for me this book can do no wrong. Another excellent mystery, written with wit and warmth. If you have not read any of this series please start with the first book rather than starting with this. The novels are linear and interlinked and you can grow to love and engage with the characters so much more.

I have enjoyed this, and all the books I have read by this author and thoroughly recommend them.

Book 7 in the Ruth Galloway series. Elly Griffiths does it again with a fantastic novel, maintaining her high standards which I have come to love. What a storyteller.

I came to Elly Griffiths late and completly by accident but after several outings for Ruth and Harry I am delighted this engaging series remains vibrant and engaging. In Ghost Fields she provides yet another twisting plot line weaving the tangibly awkward collaboration of this engaging, mid-aged archaeologist-protagonist, juggling lone parenthood and career with the charasmatic, worn and weathered, police inspector. It provides another tortuous crime plot line set against the atmospheric backcloth of the North Norfolk salt marshes. A particular joy from the series is the developing and well crafted cast of supporting players.
