“The Extincts”
(Paperback)
Good for a giggle this!
When George's bike is nicked from outsdie the sweetshop, he needs to find a job to pay for a new one. Handily, there's a and advert right there in the window to help look after some animals. When he gets tot he address though, he finds the animals are all a little.... on the extinct side! Can he somehow not get eaten by the Ichthyosaur and still stop the vicious new tasxidermist Diamond Pye from using the animals to win the Golden Brain Spoon?
Generally good for a laugh, this reminded me a fair amount of How to Train Your Dragon. I really liked all the different animals involved, especially the permanently broody dodo Dido and the ouroborous - I mean, how many kids books have an ouroborous in them?!
Certainly one I'll be recommending.
