Elements brings together Boyne's quartet of novellas - Water, Earth, Fire and Air bound together in one volume. In my opinion, this is the best way to get the most from your reading experience by reading all 4 together. While each novella does stand on its own, the four together create an impressive work tackling the effects of sexual abuse of children not just on the abused children themselves but also their families and wider society.

This is one of these books that was sitting on the shelf in Waterstones and I picked it by chance. The preview looked interesting and it turned out to be a great book.4 books in 1, each one narrated by a person who has been through life, in some cases to an extreme.Each book is linked through the people associated with the narrator. Book 3 is an absolute shocker, but each one has some very clever twists that really catch you.Read it and enjoy
