A homeless man walks into the garage of a wealthy woman and dies of starvation beside her chest freezer. Wondering who he was, why he died and why the wealthy woman felt obliged to pay for his funeral, journalist Mike Deacon begins investigating. Although the case is not in itself that complicated or unusual, what makes it an engaging story is the memorable characters who really get chance to come to life as the story progresses, and while the story is quite straightforward, it still isn't easy to see where the plot's twists and turns will take you. A good read - I really enjoyed it.
