I am surprised this has a few bad reviews. I have enjoyed reading this book from cover to cover, and whilst the ending does seem a little rushed, the quick-witted storyline had me laughing out loud in the most peculiar places as I could not put it down. A real joy to read and I have passed this book on to friends who agree.

Awful book about horrible people. Almost all the main characters were sociopathic narcissists and to whom it was impossible to feel any warmth or empathy. One star is for the first quarter of the story, which was genuinely funny, especially in ridiculing the nonsense of woke identity politics. From there, its deterioration was rapid and at the end resembled a Benny Hill sketch in print. Predictable, preachy, pointless stuff. I suspect it'll be made into a film, which was probably the author's main objective.

I'm really surprised to see so many good reviews for this book. It feels like the book has been bashed out on a Sunday evening with little thought given to the story. There's a few holes in the plot and the characters are neither likeable or believable. I don't find the book offensive, just infuriatingly boring and nonsensical. All the young people are self absorbed and seem to have no knowledge of anything that happened more than 20 years ago... a joke that got very tiring very quickly. Most of the female characters seem to hate all men.. Anyone over 50 is apparently slightly homophobic or racist.. The author is relying on lazy stereotypes for humour, not at all like anything else I've read from him. Maybe he has a new ghost.
