This latest novel by Robin Jarvis takes place in his favourite Whitby and continues the story of Lil, Vern and Cherry Cerise after the events of “The Power of Dark” (which I haven't read). There is a lot of action emanating from the titular paintbox. Lil and Vern do their best to help the people of Whitby but the book ends on a cliffhanger so there is more to come in this series. It's difficult to know if this is aimed at the Young Adult fantasy lover as there is a lot of death and destruction. It is however engaging, interesting and well-written. Recommended to all followers of Robin Jarvis's work. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
