Every family should own this beautiful illustrated book. It not only tells the story of the discovery of the Lascaux Caves but opens our eyes as to the importance of art and story telling over the centuries. This book is every bit as wonderful as Kate Winter’s first book The Fossil Hunter. I highly recommend these beautifully illustrated books.

Beautiful illustrations, so I can see why this author felt the story of these young explorers may have been relevant for a picture book as the accompanying art work does tell the story rather picturesquely.
