Reviews: The Bone Clock (21)
“Intelligent well written”
(Paperback)
by Carol Ellis
A really intelligent, well plotted and well written book. What starts out as a seemingly tidy death of a bully and wife abuser turns into a series of perfectly executed deaths of despicable men who are linked by an extremely dark secret. I really enjoyed reading this book and strangely found myself routing for the executioner. A welcome change from the usual murder/police procedural book. Andrew James Greig is one to look out for.
“An excellent read.”
(Paperback)
by Martha Brindley
I really enjoyed the first read in a new series featuring DI James Corstorphine. The setting of the Scottish Highlands just added to the allure of the book. The characterisation was excellent, although Margo was very irritating, and the unique plotting had me spellbound. This is such a good read, which I am sure readers will thoroughly enjoy, but beware trigger warnings of sexual abuse and violence. I do hope we won't have too long to wait for a follow up.
“Bone clock”
(Paperback)
by Claire Flanagan
Very, very clever story. Thrilling, chilling and bodies aspilling. The first in a series and the story is great, a series of murders with an chilling offset of abuse in a local orphanage linking crimes for the detective.
“Great Premise”
(Paperback)
by Jean Easdon
What an amazing start to a new Detective Corstorphine series. It was a great unusual premise. Exceptional writing keeping you gripped the whole book through. Enough twists and turns for a rollercoaster ride. I really enjoyed this novel and definitely looking forward to the next offering. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.
“Thought provoking”
(Paperback)
by Richard Angrave
A dark but thought provoking book that had me totally gripped and was this completed in a single sitting.
