I adored this book. More than anything else, for me this is a book about the power of memories and the simple joy we get from them and often take for granted. The love story was beautiful and the mechanic of the Binding was unique and powerful, yet to me it was the realising all the moments I keep within me that are so utterly priceless, and the gladness I feel for them now, that made this book truly spectacular. I love when fiction can affect how you feel in the real world and this did exactly that.

Highly recommend! The concept of this fantasy world was enough to hook me in and the beautiful elegant descriptions Collins uses painted a fantastic picture. Then before I knew it, I was reading the book wherever I could. On my break, on the train, whenever I got 5 minutes to myself. What starts off as a delicate introduction quickly spirals into a story of forbidden romance. Which I adored. I ended up staying up til 2am and crying to my other half about how brilliant the book was once I'd finished it. (Now officially the 2nd book to ever make me cry, ever.) But not only is there a beautiful love story, oh no, it will make you question what is it to live through painful memories. Is it better to forget and move on? SPOILERS: I also adored that this modern book set in a fantasy world had a gay romance in it, and did it well!

Bindings are seen to the common folk as witchcraft, but to the rich, it has become a source of trade where secrets can be bought and sold. No one's binding is safe. These bindings contain secrets that are too painful to remember. Memories that people wish to forget. One day, Lucian Darney appears at the Binder's house were Emmett is working. He knows Emmett, and yet Emmett doesn't. Why is Lucian familiar to him, and why is there such a strong connection between the two? What do they both want to forget? I absolutely loved this book! I couldn't put it down! It was an emotional rollercoaster between both characters as you see the points of view from both.

This book is simply beautiful. It’s gorgeous cover design, and great story. What more can I say, I’m in love.

Could not put it down. I was always eager for what was about to happen next. The story and characters were so enchanting. A must read.
