Reviews: The Apartment (2)
“An elegant poetic novel”
(Hardback)
A December day in an unnamed European city looking for an apartment in an attempt to achieve a greater feeling of permanence, the main character may want to live on the cusp of a relationship but that’s not all he needs in order to understand his life.
Beautifully written, it becomes clear that the main character is looking for something more than just a place to stay. He is simultaneously outrunning his past and trying to understand it. A captivating read.
“Loved it”
(Paperback)
A thoughtful, enigmatic book. American existentialism in the style of James Salter. It’s brilliant.
